TWIN

Groundbreaking innovation, TWIN - 2 cabs, 1 shaft, 0 crowds

TWIN is a unique elevator developed by ThyssenKrupp Elevator, operating two fully independent moving cabs in the same shaft. This innovation goes far beyond the convention of the Double deck elevator, allowing each car to potentially serve each floor in a building. This design significantly increases passenger capacity whilst dramatically reducing the amount of building space required.

The TWIN system has been successfully employed in a number of buildings, maximising useable floor space whilst reducing passenger waiting and journey times. The control and coordination of this innovative elevator is provided by DSC hall call control where passengers are assigned a lift that will get them to their destination fastest.

The current TWIN system is designed for buildings between from 24m to 350m high and up to 4 metres per second.
